German automaker BMW has announced that the new Active Tourer Outdoor Concept will be unveiled at the 2013 OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
Probably a study that will preview BMW’s first seven-seater MPV, the Concept Active Tourer Outdoor is aimed at “meeting the special needs of an outdoor and leisure time oriented target group”. In addition, BMW says the concept combines “comfort and dynamic design with a high level of spatial functionality and intelligent access to BMW ConnectedDrive services”.
The Germans refrained from revealing further details, but the Outdoor concept is expected to sport the same plug-in hybrid powertrain as the original Active Tourer Concept. This means a 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo engine and electric motor combo for a total output of at least 190 HP and 200 Nm.
The new vehicle will be unwrapped at the 2013 OutDoor exhibition on July 12.
