The biggest problem with M cars these days is their price tag. The amount of performance they offer is not to be questioned and they really are brilliant engineering pieces but most of the time, their potential is wasted in heavy traffic.
What good is a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 and all of its 560 horses when your average speed is 20 mph (32 km/h)? Therefore, more and more people shift their views towards more ‘normal’ cars and, even though they don’t look and feel the same, unless you’re going to the track, they’ll get the job done.
Take this BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe for example. This is basically the perfect model in BMW’s line-up to prove our point. Unlike other cars, the M Sport package for the four-door coupe doesn’t make it look like an M6 at all.
While on the 5 Series, for example, the same package will put your BMW knowledge to the test to see if you’re looking at an M5 or not, in this case, you won’t have such headaches.
That doesn’t mean it’s ugly though. This one, for example, was done by Sonic Tuning and it’s looking absolutely brilliant, without going too far.
There’s a Hamann lip installed on the front bumper as well as an Enlaes M6 diffuser round the back, between the tailpipes. The package is completed by H&R lowering springs all around, a Meisterschaft exhaust and 20-inch BC Forged HB20 wheels. Check it out in the photo gallery below.
