The 13th of the month doesn't seem to be a jinx in Asia as BMW decided to launch their 4 Series today on the Chinese market. Since luxury vehicles are becoming more and more popular in the communist country, things are bound to get even better for the Germans.
There will be only 4 models available in China, at first. The base model is the 428i that starts at CNY596,000 (USD97,807) and comes with the same 2-liter turbocharged unit as in Europe, that develops 245 HP and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. For the xDrive version, you'd have to pay CNY620,000 (USD101,700).
The 435i model starts at CNY708,000 (USD116,146) and comes with the usual 3-liter N55 turbocharged engine that makes 306 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque and an automatic 8-speed gearbox. As for the xDrive version, it starts at CNY730,000 (USD119,754).
All 4 models will be available in the same 3 trim lines as in the US, Luxury, Sport and M Sport and will probably include the same kit.
