For quite some time now, the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe configurator has been online on the company’s homeland website. However, German is not a language everyone speaks and understands.
Therefore, when we heard that the same configurator went online on the UK website, we knew that we simply had to share the info with you, to let you know that you can now create your own perfect 4-door coupe and see exactly how it would look like.
The optional features are a bit different from the usual you’ll find on the US website. That’s because the British always want to be a little special and they won’t follow the same rules as everyone else.
For example, on their website, you get to choose from 27 different model variants but that doesn’t mean that there are actually 27 different engines but only that instead of allowing you to choose your own lines for the car, the Brits are ranking them as separate models.
Whereas in the US you’d have only 3 or 4 different models that you can then configure with the preferred optional features, over here you have them all already configured.
Therefore you get to pick out of the SE, Modern, Sport, Luxury and M Sport editions and 5 different engines: 3 on petrol, 2 on diesel. The 3 petrol models you get to choose from are the 420i, 428i and 435i while the diesels are the 418d and 420d versions.
Exterior colors vary from Alpine White (which is free, by the way) to Estoril Blue (only for M Sport models) and go up to Individual paints like Citrine Black, Tanzanite Blue, Moonstone and Pyrite Brown.
Inside, you get to pick almost everything to your own desire, from the dash trims to the upholstery and trim finishers. Of special importance are the Individual leather upholstery options that look and feel absolutely brilliant.
