The latest iteration of the 3 Series, the 6th in the company’s history, was launched last year and managed to win a couple of awards in its first year of activity, one of them being the Auto Trophy 2012 award for the most popular mid-range automobile.
This year, the 3er managed to repeat its performance, being voted, once again by the 103,000 Auto Zeitung readers as the most popular mid-range model in Germany.
Numerous other cars from BMW were also ranked amongst the top 3 in their respective categories, such as the 5 Series, X1 and 1 Series Convertible. Another successful entry was the i8 plug-in hybrid sports car, the i3 and X5 that won awards in their own categories.
The prizes were presented by Auto Zeitung editor-in-chief Volker Koerdt at a ceremony held in Dusseldorf, to BMW’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Dr. Ian Robertson and BMW’s Director of Development, Dr. Herbert Diess.
