BMW 3 Series, One of the Most Desired Cars in the US, Thefts Say

One recent investigation done by the National Insurance Crime Bureau in the US placed Mercedes-Benz's C-Class on the top spot in a 'Most Stolen' top. BMW's 3 Series followed closely on the second spot.
There's more to this top than might meet the eye at first. Looking over the numbers you might realize that it's also giving you insight to which car is most desired and sought after. The sales of the two models have been on the rise lately but not everyone can afford one.

That's when thieves start jacking them to obtain that special status they promise their drivers. Also, with the continuous progress of technology these days, stealing cars is getting harder every day.

Just as the NICB spokesman, Frank Scafidi says, the results of the investigation might be influenced by the careless attitude of the drivers: “It could be that most Mercedes-Benz drivers leave their keys in their car while having their poodles shampooed whereas BMW drivers are more careful about security"

"If that is the case then it is more a question about who is driving Mercedes rather than what makes them more attractive to thieves,” he added.

The top includes other Mercedes and BMW models too, on the 3rd spot coming in the Infinity G series, whilst the 4th, 5th and 6th positions were occupied, in order, by the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CTS and BMW 5 Series.
