You don’t need too many miles in order to feel the difference between BMW’s 3 Series Gran Turismo and the 3 Series Sedan. The engineers were given a rather simple tasks - make the thing longer and play with the chassis so that the car feels cozier altogether, not just more spacious.
Inside the city, out on the highway or on B-roads, the GT moniker at the end of the 3 Series means those in the back will enjoy themselves.
Alas, the series of compromises that had to be made ended up making the whole car feeling a bit too much like a... compromise. The setup feels softer than in the regular 3er and yet it’s not comfortable enough to make the experience a memorable one.
