Up until a few years ago, there were only a hand-full of compact hatchbacks on sale in Europe that you could be proud of, and most people will agree the best one is the rear-wheel drive BMW 1-Series.
We are of course talking about the old one, the Bangle! It might not have been the best looking or the best handling drifter, but it’s certainly fast enough to keep up with the best hot hatches out there. One part of the car that’s seriously letting the 1-Series down is the unimaginative interior. Though it might be well screwed together, it’s as dull as an old cat.
However, Polish leather specialists Carlex Design say they’ve cracked this German nut with an awesome red and black custom project. They used hot red Alcantara, pitch black Alcantara and of course the same color black leather. They used the velvety red Alcantara on the door panels, the side armrests and even the steering wheel. When it comes to the dash, not even what was a wood trim piece has been left untouched.
