As we're preparing the next week's exclusive interview with the amazing Stuart Gunn, here's one more from the man who defies being blind and disabled, and manages to get up on his Hayabusa to smash the land speed records and bring inspiration to us all.
As we reported in yesterday's story, Mr. Gunn, 39, broke the standing speed record set by Billy Baxter ten years ago. He rode his Suzuki GSX-R1300 to the 167.1 mph (268.86 km/h) mark, a hefty improvement to the former 164.87 mph (265.33 km/h) 2003 performance.
Now, as if this was not already an astonishing achievement, we learn that Stuart is also thinking about the most extreme and dangerous road racing event of the planet: the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy.
"Definitely wacko" some said, but we beg to differ: Billy Baxter himself went around the Donnington Park in 2007, proving that there is so much more to be done on a bike, even when blind.
So with a little luck and help from his friends and equally amazing, supporting father Geoff, we might see Mr. Gunn on the Snaefell, writing his name in the hall of fame of the legendary Mountain Course.
