This isn't a popular opinion, but tuning a Rolls-Royce isn’t bad taste. After all, Rolls-Royce is the epitome of customization.
I admit, however, that taking a luxobarge out of context and out of its comfort zone by applying carbon fiber here and there might polarize opinion. Carbon fiber trim for the most famous luxury brand of all time is exactly what Bengala Automotive and Vitesse Audessus have done.

The carbon fiber package developed by the design house and the U.S.-based tuner isn’t cheap, though. The carbon fiber hood, for example, is $7,250. Carbon fiber front grille surround? That’ll be between $3,875 and $4,125, depending on the Rolls-Royce model for which it is meant. As per its creators, the carbon fiber package is available for all Rolls-Royce models from the present and the recent past, from the 2003 Phantom to the 2016 Dawn.

You want door mirrors and mounts made from this lightweight yet strong material? That’ll be $3,125, thank you! Windshield surround? $3,100 to $3,480. In the case of the Wraith, a carbon fiber roof will set you back $9,655. For a decklid spoiler, customers will have to pony up $6,950. The highlight of this tuning program, however, comes in the form of an industry first.

Vitesse AuDessus CEO Stefany Sanchez will take it from here: "Carbon fiber wheels are the clearest and best performance choice as they dramatically lower unsprung weight. The only failing is in the complicated production process and long manufacturing lead-times. Forged carbon wheels solve this problem and open the doors to a wide range of future applications.”

Don’t, however, ask how much do the forged carbon fiber wheels cost. OK, fine, I’m much obliged to tell you that $21,500 (or roughly the price of a 2017 Ford Fusion) will buy you a set of these babies. Speaking of which, the two companies highlight that every removable body panel is available in bare carbon in the weave, tint, and finish specified by the customer.

"Forged carbon fiber is an extraordinary development for the automotive industry [...] The product that Vitesse AuDessus was able to develop exceeded my highest expectations; and, when thinking of the appropriate application for the material's debut as a luxury finish, no pairing was better suited than the handmade rolling masterpieces by Rolls-Royce,“ added Bengala Automotive owner and design chief Shoghi Saeidnia.
