We kind of developed a sweet spot for the 996 generation of the Porsche 911 Turbo. You know, it’s strange: we really liked the supercar when it was in production but lately we’ve become obsessed with it.{ad] Of course, we have to make sure that it keeps us with the contemporary supercars, which are on a power overdose, so we’ve decided to present you another tuning project based on it.

This example of the 996 911 Turbo was modified by BBI Autosport, which has only released a set of photos showing the vehicle’s modification process. (the images were posted on luxury4play.com).

The story is simple and... explosive. It seems that the owner of the vehicle wanted a vehicle that could blow anything on the road to pieces while being suitable as a “wife carrier”. We have to mention that when the vehicle was taken to the tuner, it only had less than 3,000 miles on its odometer.

So, let’s see what the guys at BBi did to the 911’s powerplant. Here is the partial (!) list of modifications received by the engine:
  • BBI B95 3.8L
  • BBI 3.8L piston kit
  • BBI 12-10 Head studs
  • BBI Custom 4pc Head Gaskets
  • BBI Billet Under-drive pulley
  • BBI Coil Packs
  • BBI -8 hand built fuel rails and full fuel system
  • Carrillo H-beam rods 21mm pin (stock length)
  • Fully balanced and lightened crank
  • Fully Ported heads with upgraded springs and Ti-retainers
  • 997TT Manifold
  • IPD Plenum with 82mm GT3RS t-body
  • IPD-BBI push through Y-pipe and BBI plumbing
  • Protomotive ECU tuning
