Baseline Uses Chopper Art for Sprinkler Controllers

Green irrigation control technology company Baseline wished for something out of the ordinary for their new controller lineup and, as unusual as it may sound, they turned to none other than custom bike builder Chris Olson. The result was so exciting that some say it “may be the "sickest" sprinkler controller in the world.”

"We make the coolest irrigation controllers on the planet, but they basically look like circuit-breaker boxes," said Jon Peters, Director of Sales at Baseline. "We are very excited to break out and make a product that people will be proud to hang on their garage wall."

Working with his team and suppliers, Olson chose a combination paint and overlay process to implement the project. The results are visually stunning and relatively easy to custom fabricate.

Featuring artwork suitable for a custom chopper, the Baseline X-Series Custom Cabinets are quite an eye catcher with motifs in flames and skulls, an undertone of Gothic lettering and the Maltese Cross.

"I got really excited about this project,"
said Olson.  "It was way outside of my comfort zone, and something I knew nothing about.  My vision was of water and fire – a box engulfed in flames with skull heads shadowed behind the flames. "

Chris Olson has been often featured on magazine covers such as Hot Bike Magazine and IronWorks, and his chopper “Remember When” was front page in the recent “Today’s Top Custom Bike Builders” by S&S Cycles, marking him as one of the 50 top builders in the world.

Chris has created custom charity bikes for Make-a-Wish Foundation with Wayne Newton, and the Breg Biffle foundation in conjunction with the National Guard to to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina.
