After the Chile-based rider Chaleco Lopez (KTM) took the win of the inaugural 2013 Dakar stage and Despres, the defending champion just 13 seconds behind in the fifth position, it's time for Husqvarna to shine.
Joan Barreda, riding for Husqvarna by Speedbrain won the second stage and was more than 3 minutes faster than the second placed Joan Pedrero. Actual Dakar champion Cyril Despres made a navigation error going around a dune which costing him a lot of time and allowing Oz Husqvarna rider Matt Fish to seize a rather unexpected podium place. Despres came in the 13th position and is now 5th in the overall rankings, with Barreda in the lead.

Marc Coma's replacement rider Curt Caselli finished Stage 2 7 positions ahead Despres and is now in position 11 in the overall ranking. Honda's Helder Rodrigues is in the 14th overall position, and we hope he'll come up with better result as the 2013 Dakar unfolds.

Stage 3 takes place between Pisco and Nazca, 100 km liaison and 243 km of special stage, with the first 80 km of steep climbs and alternating sand and soil surface. Enjoy the car/ bike Dakar summary video.
