In the first DTM race ever to take place in Russia, BMW Team RBM managed to finish in the points, thanks to Brazilian driver, Augusto Farfus. This marked the first podium finish since the Spielberg race for BMW.
Starting out from the third position in his Castrol EDGE BMW M3 DTM, Augusto managed to defend his position until the end of the race, fending off Adrien Tambay from Audi in the last laps, who was on way fresher tires.

With this podium, Augusto reached the 5th such win in his career and the 7th podium overall for BMW in the 2013 DTM season. Unfortunately, the victory went to Mike Rockenfeller from Audi that is now leading the driver's championship with 27 points more than Bruno Spengler.

Another impressive display came from Joey Hand that managed to fight back from 15th on the grid to finish seventh, thus the BMW Team RBM had both drivers in the points at Moscow. The eighth place went to Dirk Werner in the Samsung BMW M3 DTM whilst Bruno Spengler finished 19th due to a rear hit from Miguel Molina (Audi) in the third lap.

Fortunately though, thanks to the final standings, BMW managed to keep its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship with 217 points.
