On July 26, at the Brickyard Gran Prix, Starworks Motorsport will start as part of the BMW Power team, in their two Daytona Prototype racing cars.
The team was the winner of the inaugural Brickyard Grand Prix last season, capturing the 2012 North American Endurance Championship – a three-race championship-within-a-championship awarding $100K to the top finisher at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen and the Brickyard Grand Prix.

“There is a dynamic change coming with the series integrating next year and we are looking for a partner and people we could work with long term. It is mid season, but we felt that the time was right to add BMW Power,” said Peter Baron, Starworks Motorsport Team Principal.

“We are excited to welcome Starworks Motorsport back to the BMW Power family. Our discussions with Peter (Baron) and Alex (Popow) over the last weeks were extremely positive allowing us to make this partnership happen quickly," said Gordon McDonnell, BMWNA Motorsports Manager.

"Starworks is having an excellent season to-date and I’m positive that we can help them continue. Dinan Motorsports played an enormous role in getting the engines built in time for Indianapolis and I want to thank Steve and his team for making this happen in such a short amount of time,” he added.

The three-hour race, held on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, marks the beginning of the second half of the 2013 Rolex Sports Car Series and the last race in the NAEC.
