Audi TT RS Roadster Sees Daylight in Leipzig

After showing the coupe version at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show this month, Audi finally decided to display the Roadster flavor at the AMI Motor Show in Leipzig. The car is expected to arrive in authorized European dealerships this summer, but pricing details are yet to be released.

As you can see for yourself in the adjacent photo, the TT RS Roadster looks a bit more aggressive compared to the standard TT, incorporating a wide array of elements that contribute to this kind of appearance. For example, the model comes with a new fixed rear wing, restyled spoilers, RS badges, large air intakes and LED daytime lights that could make this particular model comply with various regulations around the world, including the United States.

In terms of engines configurations, the TT RS Roadster boasts a 2.5-liter FSI five-cylinder turbocharged unit that produces a maximum power of 340 hp. The car accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, with maximum speed electronically-limited at 250 km/h (155 mph). A different output level is available as optional, with the same aforementioned engine producing a top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph), according to GlobalMotors.net.

All models will be equipped with Audi's permanent all-wheel drive system, the source dds, and will measure 4.20 meters (13.78 feet) in length and with a weight of 1,450 kilograms (3,196 pounds).

As mentioned, details are pretty scarce at this point, but we're still expecting for an official statement from Audi, including pricing and official details regarding the European launch date.
