Audi RS7 Expected to Come in 2012

Back in 2009, Audi started a special story, introducing Sportback concept at the Detroit Auto Show. This was the first step in a journey that will take the German automaker on an sky-high pathway. The production version of the A7 Sportback came to the world at this year’s Paris Auto Show, with the vehicle now already on sale on certain markets.

However, Audi is preparing a special version of the vehicle, which will take the game to a whole new level. We are talking about the RS7, a vehicle that has generated wave after wave of rumors until now.

Audi hasn’t confirmed that the A7 will receive such an extreme incarnation, but we can be pretty sure that the car is coming our way.

As for the vehicle’s powerplant, there are multiple possibilities. The most likely unit to be found under the hood of the future vehicle is a turbocharged V8 unit. We might be talking about the 4.0 liter V8 that is currently being co-developed by Audi and Bentley. The unit will offer a hefty output, as the vehicle is a Power War fighter.

In addition to that, the engine will come with a high level of efficiency, as this has become a requirement for all new automotive developments.

The RS7 will have a difficult task, as it is playing in the stratosphere of the four-door coupe segment. This is a place where the competition if fierce so, when the car arrives in 2012 (expected release date), we’ll be enjoying quite a show.
