It’s always a great pleasure to offer you a new piece of news connected to the hot hatches segment and we seem to be having more and more opportunities to enjoy this. Things become even more special if we are talking about the future Audi RS3, a vehicle that will fight for the “king of the performance hill” title.
Last time our spy photographers caught the Audi RS3, the vehicle was performing a test session on the Nurburgring. Now, images showing the vehicle’s steering wheel, as well as its instrument panel have leaked onto the web, offering one more evidence that Audi will build the model. (the pictures were published by motorspain.com).
As you can see, the RS3 will use a flat-bottom steering wheel that comes with a perforated leather finish with contrasting stitching. The multifunctional steering wheel also features a set of gearshift paddles that will control the hatch’s DSG double-clutch automatic gearbox. As for the instrument panel, this includes a speedometer that goes all the way up to 310 km/h (192.5 mph).
You might be wondering if Audi has gone mad (192.5 mph speedo on a hatch), but we can tell you that, even though the car won’t quite be able to reach such a speed, it will pack a serious level of heat. This is because it is expected to be powered by the TT RS’ turbocharged five-cylinder engine that develops 340 hp and has a peak torque of 450 Nm.
Now that the aforementioned interior elements have been revealed, we are waiting for a (media) move from Audi.
