Audi R8-based PPI Razor GTR

PPI Automotive has just unveiled its latest creation, an Audi R8-based high-performance model that puts out a maximum power of no less than 580 bhp. The car was displayed at the Top Marques Monaco 2009 and continues the series started by the German tuner last year at the Essen Motor Show with the PPI R8 Razor model.

Because engine specifications are indeed the most important data when talking about such a car, as we told you, the GTR generates 580 bhp at 7400 rpm while top torque goes as much as 600 Nm at 6200 rpm. In order to achieve such surprising stats, the engineers reduced the engine weight, bringing the car's total weight down to a whooping 1580 kg, which means it is 40 kilos lighter than the Audi R8 V10.

The resulting car jumps from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.7 seconds, with maximum speed of 332 km/h (206.3 mph).

"The essential part of the motor alteration is the incorporation of a specially engineered supercharger. In addition, a ram-charged sport air filter system and a high performance exhaust system made of stainless steel have been designed and added specifically to work in conjunction with the supercharger system. These components are precisely adjusted to each other with the help of a new ignition map for motor electronics,"
PPI Automotive explained in a release.

Obviously, the car comes with numerous enhancements supposed to help the body handle this impressive output, including AG9 Carbon Fiber aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires, 19-inch at front and 20-inch at the rear. Interiors have been customized as well, with carbon fiber on the dashboard and Onyx Nubuck-leather with orange-coloured accents and highlights.
