Audi Offers an R8 at the Tavistock Cup Golf Tournament

The German car maker seems to be focusing its advertising efforts on the sport of golf as the automotive brand in question recently celebrated its 20th anniversary as organizer of the Audi quattro amateur golf cup.

Audi returns now for the second year as sponsor of the prestigious Tavistock Cup Golf Tournament, which pits two of the finest golf communities in the US – Isleworth and Lake Nona. The tournament is an officially sanctioned PGA Tour event and will take place between the 22nd and 23rd of March.

To make the competition more interesting, Audi will award any golfer who sinks a hole in one during the competition an Audi R8 sports car, while his fellow teammates will also receive an A5 Cabriolet each.

“Among the highlights of the Audi sponsorship is the commitment to award an Audi R8 sports car to any golfer who sinks a hole in one during the competition. The remaining nine members of that team will win Audi A5 Cabriolets. Eight Audi models will be available for test drives during the event. Last year, more than 200 people at the Tavistock Cup took Audi test drives. Audi of America and Classic Audi of Orlando are leading the sponsorship and ride & drive opportunity at the Tavistock Cup,” announced the press release.

PGA golfers on the Isleworth team are: Robert Allenby, Stuart Appleby, Ajun Atwal, John Cook, Brian Davis, J.B. Holmes, Charles Howell III, Lee Janzen, Nick O'Hearn and Mark O'Meara. PGA golfers on the Lake Nona team are: Ben Curtis, Ernie Els, Ross Fisher, Retief Goosen, Peter Hanson, Trevor Immelman, Graeme McDowell, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson.

The Tavistock Cup was established in 2004 and since then it has donated more the $4.5 million to support community organizations.
