Audi likes to stay on top of the performance segments it competes in in terms of sheer power and the company’s sub-compact model, the A1 is no exception to this. Late last year, the carmaker announced the introduction of a limited edition A1 quattro, a vehicle that comes with staggering performance.
Now, the automotive producer has confirmed that the British market will also get a share of the vehicle. Even though the A1 quattro won’t be built with right-hand drive, the great market interest has determined Audi to bring 20 units out of the total 333 to the UK.
According to autocar, Audi has already received multiple deposits and expects to sell all the 20 unit ahead of the vehicle’s launch, which is scheduled to take place later this year.
We’ll remind you that the A1 quattro uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit that delivers 256 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 350 Nm (258.2 lb-ft) between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm. The car uses a six-speed manual gearbox to send the power to a quattro awd system, being able to complete the 0 to 62 mph sprint in 5.7 seconds and offer a top speed of 152 mph (245 km/h).
