Audi might be considering expanding the A1 range past the three- and five-door hatchback models that have already been introduced, with one of the most probable models to be developed on the A1’s platform being a Q1 crossover.
According to What Car, Audi is considering introducing a new crossover that would be slotted under the Q3 and would continue the company’s tendency to downsize its vehicles of this kind.
"You've seen how our SUVs have been getting smaller - Q7, Q5, Q3 - and the A1 platform could go in that direction, but nothing is planned for the near future," an Audi insider told the aforementioned source. On the other hand, the insider also said that an open-top version of the A1 is not likely, as this could cannibalize the A3 Cabriolet.
