When Audi came with that innovative bicycle built with a monocoque frame made of hardwood about four years ago, we thought the Germans are just playing around. The next year, of course, another e-model followed and we realized they too are taking the path others like Caterham, McLaren, Lamborghini and Aston Martin took.
Present in the same booth with the new Audi R8 at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the new Audi Sport Racing Bike costs little over a regular car, but seems to be worth it.

The two-wheeler speed commuter was designed in partnership with another German company called CarbonSports, which is specialized in lightweight bikes manufacture. This is exactly what the limited series model stands for, which, of course, borrows several elements of its construction form the company’s sportscar line-up.

Take the saddle covered in the same Fine Nappa leather used in the new supercar unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

Based on Clincher wheels and an Urgestalt frame design, the Audi Sport-inspired bicycle comes with frame and forks made from T1000 carbon, the same they use to make that beautiful R18 e-tron Quattro cockpit. This makes the whole thing weigh less than 6 kg.

According to Bike Radar, all this is wrapped in a simple but effective color scheme courtesy of the Audi Concept Design Studio in Munich. Each of the only 50 bikes has an individual limited edition badge and is priced at a shivering EUR17,500 ($18,620).

Before we say the obvious - this bike is really EXPENSIVE - we will spend a couple of seconds to imagine how a bike that light feels like on the road.
