Audi A7 Beauty Is Not Skin Deep, Consumer Reports Says

CR Audi A7 review 1 photo

Four-door coupes used to be a mystery for those folks who aren't buying them. But now, we are starting to get what they are all about. The formula is simple: compromise on practicality and get more looks while also paying more. It's a wonky idea that has somehow worked remarkably well, with BMW, Mercedes and Audi all offering similar big cars with roofs that slope.
Of the bunch, the A7 is probably the most sensible, equipped with a large liftback boot that we like. Styling wise, the A7 is only as good as its Audi lines allow it. If you're a fan of Ingolstadt, you'll think it's the bee's knees, but if not than you'll find it boring.

Consumer Reports gave the 2014 Audi A7 very positive review overall, but criticized it for things like ride height, access and of course the price. The 2014 model year brings with it a V6 diesel that's never been available stateside. It much better real world economy, but you have to feed it AddBlue and pay extra over the standard gasoline V6.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
