Atomik 500 to Debut at the Salon Prive

Remember the all electric Abarth 500 we presented some two months ago? Well, that mean-looking little buzzer is among the supercar debuts at the upcoming Salon Prive event. Dubbed the ‘world’s first all-electric city supercar,’ Atomik 500 will try and win the crowd between July 21-23, 2010.

Paris-based maker Atomik Cars will bring two Atomik 500 vehicles to the event. The Atomik 500 claims 0-100 km/h in under five seconds and has a range of up to 200 km.

The electric supercar features AC brushless synchronous electric motors developing a combined output of about 300 hp. They allow the car to reach the 60 mph mark in some 5.6 seconds.

“Atomik Cars offer a preview of tomorrow’s technology, in cars you can buy and use today.  Our cars offer avant-garde design, ambition and technological skill and Salon Privé gives us the perfect platform to reach customers looking for just that exclusivity,”
Jerome Griffart of Atomik Cars said in a release.

Other highlights of the 2010 Salon Prive show also include the return of the German marque Veritas, which is expected to unveil a brand new model, following the success of its RSIII Spyder at last year’s event.

“Our philosophy has always been that Salon Privé should be a showcase for the exotic, unusual and exclusive supercars, alongside their more recognisable contemporaries.  With Atomik and Veritas this year, we are continuing that proud tradition,”
said Salon Prive co-founder, David Bagley.

The 2010 Salon Prive is set to take place at London’s Hurlingham Club, offering Europe its largest single display of luxury cars, supercars and some of the finest classic cars. Further exhibitors will be revealed closer to the event date.
