Aston Martin V12 Zagato Racer Rendered to Elegant Perfection

Aston Martin has released the first rendered image of the race-ready V12 Zagato, which will make its track debut this summer at the famous Nurburgring track. What can we say, it’s bright orange, it has a big carbon fiver wing and front splitter and it looks as British as a half-breed can.

“Nurburgring is where we sign-off every new model in terms of dynamics, and there can be no better place for the new V12 Zagato to be finally tested,” Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez stated. “The 24-hour race is the ultimate road test and a fitting introduction for the V12 Zagato.”

The Aston Martin V12 Zagato will make its racing debut at the Nordschleife this weekend (Saturday, May 28) in the 4-hour ADAC ACAS H&R-Cup VLN race. Two editions of the Zagato will also test their metal to the max at the 24-hour endurance race in June.

“Based on the reactions of our customers to this race car, we hope to offer a road-homologated V12 Zagato in a small, limited number as soon as possible,”
added Dr Bez. “First feedback has been great so far, this makes us confident that this new Aston Martin V12 Zagato will be a winner of the classic car vote at Villa D’Este in 50 years time.”

The V12 Zagato was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the DB4GT Zagato. Since then Zagato and Aston Martin have collaborated together on several projects such as the V8 Vantage Zagato and DB7 Zagato.

Under the bonnet of the semi-civilized road-going version is a mid-front mounted 6.0 liter V12 engine producing 520 hp and 570 Nm (420 lb ft) of torque coupled to a rear-mounted six-speed automated manual gearbox that drives the rear axle.
