Aston Martin Racing and Shock Doctor Team Up for Le Mans Series

Shock Doctor Inc. today announced that it is the new so-called "Official Technical Luggage Supplier" for Aston Martin Racing and will support it during the Le Mans Series with the newly-launched LMP1 model.

“We are proud to provide the world-class Aston Martin Racing team with our outstanding line of custom bags and Power Dry products,” said Patrick Lynch, Motorsport Director for Shock Doctor.

To be more specific, Aston Martin Racing's drivers will benefit from Shock Doctor's technology, including the power Dry System collection of rolling luggage, duffels and packs. The Power Dry Ultra Gear, Garment and Helmet Bags will also be provided to Aston Martin Racing, Shock Doctor said in a press statement. In essence, the Power Dry System protects the drivers from bacteria "by eliminating the damp environment where bacteria thrive on equipment and racing suits".

“We are pleased to partner with Shock Doctor, in providing our racers with cutting-edge performance and protection,” said Aston Martin Chairman, David Richards.

“2009 is a hugely significant year for Aston Martin at Le Mans and the challenge of reclaiming victory in this famous race for Aston Martin and Great Britain was simply too great to ignore. We do not underestimate the task, and I see this as a great opportunity to showcase the ingenuity of British engineering talent.”

As you probably remember, Aston Martin Racing unveiled in early March its 2009 LMP1 cars at the Le Mans Series testing session on the Paul Ricard Circuit in France. The two cars, numbered 007 and 009, were tested by all six drivers of the team, Jan Charouz (CZ), Tomas Enge (CZ), Stefan Mücke (DE), Harold Primat (CH), Miguel Ramos (PT) and Darren Turner (GB).
