The fact that an Aston Martin DB5 belonging to none other than George Harrison, the formed Beatles lead guitarist is up for grabs created a lot of interest on our site.
The car was bought by Harrison on January 1st 1965 through Brydor Cars of Brooklands in Surrey. It comes with the 4.0-liter straight-six that’s supposed to offer 282 horsepower and a top speed of 148 miles per hour. The car has spent some time in a museum and in the hand of a collector. It’s still in original and unrestored condition. Coys say it was bought by a anonymous Beatle and Aston Martin fan from Houston in Texas.

“There was a battle royal for this car which went for some £150,000.00 over its estimate,” Chris Routledge, Managing Director at car auction house COYS. “It was a fantastic sale with dealers and collectors from all over the world participating. There is also no doubt that many people who in the past invested in stock and shares are now looking to classic cars as a good investment for the future.”

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
