"The road goes ever on" is a lovely tune, but in case we're dealing with red traffic lights, the hospital is the only place the road will take those who won't heed them.
It's the case of this scooter rider who (obviously) speeds through the red light. Another speeding scooter, another crash, more property damage and some injuries as a bonus: the story sounds a bit too familiar.
Will we ever see the number of such accidents drop dramatically? I really doubt it. Maybe these crashes will cease when all the vehicles will be driving by themselves. But then, what's the point in riding a bike, if you can't control it and receive your dose of adrenaline-soaked fun?
Which brings us back to what an old rider used to tell me: "laddie boy, them bikes are ridden with yer mind, and not yer hands. Hands are weak and will fail you, the mind is the real deal!" Such truth in his words!
