Ohio-based AMP Electric Vehicles is a relatively new company, and like all new companies, it needs substantial financial backing, before it can stay afloat on its own. And so, AMP have just received a $7.5- / €5.95 investment from a California-based company, Kodiak Capital Group.
They plan to use the funds to further expand their production capabilities of EV fleets. It was only last week that the company delivered its first heavy-duty all-electric step van, to Navistar. It is capable of traveling as much as 100 miles on a single charge, so it’s more than adequate for jobs within the city limits. AMP’s range of vehicles on offer, as well as their array of dealerships will slowly expand, and once they start having a solid customer base, the company will no longer need such investments to remain viable.

Currently, they have one dealership, in Cincinnati, and they currently convert the Mercedes-Benz ML or the Jeep Grand Cherokee to all-electric drive. They will also be partnering up with FedEx, to convert two trucks to run on electricity alone - they will enter a testing phase, in the Washington D.C. area.
