Superstorm Sandy has hit the US hard, and since there are a lot more luxury cars in the US, than in the usual Russian videos we post, we were bound to see some sort of Bentley or Rolls Royce driver, thinking he or she is at the helm of an actual yacht.
However, seeing this video, it seems that cars can take a lot more than we give them credit for, as both a Bentley GTC and a new BMW 5-Series wade through fairly deep water, without skipping a beat. Keep in mind that this is the US, so the BMW was not diesel-powered, as compression-ignition is more reliable in wet conditions.
Also, the driver and passenger in the car from which the video was shot seem to really enjoy seeing the cars, which are being driven through water so deep, they almost look like actual boats, and their drivers being very focused at getting through. The video seems to have been shot from 'atop an SUV', so the two people in the car had good reason to be laughing, as they were unphased by a little water.
