Hyundai is preparing to launch the facelifted Tucson crossover and Santa Cruz pickup in the United States. The two models are only a few days away from their local premieres, scheduled for the 2024 New York Auto Show on March 27.
As you already know, the Korean company already premiered the facelifted Tucson last November. However, that was the model destined for its local market. Still, we expect the US model to feature the same revised styling, comprising the updated front and rear ends and the fresh wheels. It will likely sport the same 12.3-inch dual screen inside, too, alongside the updated console and a few other things.

Korea's 2024 Tucson (2025 in the United States) is offered with a gasoline engine and a diesel. The first one produces 178 hp (180 ps/132 kW), the oil burner is good for 181 hp (184 ps/135 kW), and a hybrid joins the offering. America's outgoing Tucson uses a 2.5-liter mill making 187 hp (190 ps/140 kW). The hybrid enjoys 226 hp (229 ps/169 kW), and the plug-in hybrid brings 261 hp (265 ps/195 kW) to the party.

We don't expect any major powertrain upgrades when it comes to the compact crossover's facelifted iteration, as it should soldier on pretty much in the same form as the current one. It is possible that Hyundai will slightly bump the price from the current $26,900 (MSRP) for the base flavor, $31,350 for the Hybrid, and $37,500 for the Plug-in Hybrid. Beneath the skin, it will retain the same platform, which is shared with the Staria, Santa Cruz, Sonata, Kia Sorento, Carnival, etc.

While we know a lot about the upcoming Tucson, the facelifted Santa Cruz remains a mystery when it comes to the updates. Nevertheless, it is expected to have a new grille, revised lighting units, different front and rear bumpers, and probably fresh wheels to top off the exterior changes. Some believe the interior updates will be similar (if not identical) to the ones of the 2025 Tucson, but this is a simple rumor at the moment, albeit one that might hide some truth behind it.

Details surrounding the powertrains are also unknown, yet we will remind you that the current pickup features a 191 hp (194 ps/142 kW) 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and a turbocharged mill with the same displacement that pushes out 281 hp (285 ps/210 kW). The 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz starts at $26,900 before destination and dealer fees, and it is possible that the facelifted one will become a bit pricier.

We will find out everything about the facelifted Tucson and Santa Cruz destined for our market in less than a week from today, and the first units should arrive at dealers in a few months.
