Alpine plans to revive the legendary A110 model in 2015, but another successor for the rally-winning vehicle could be created in... Mexico.
The original Alpine A110 sportscar was built in Mexico as well, under the Dinalpin name, from 1965 to 1974, and Miguel Jimenez wants to build a follow up version in the 21st century.
Dubbed SST-77, the Alpine-inspired vehicle is developed as a “low capacity, low weight, agile, high performance” sportscar. Designed by Alejandro Castaneda, the fiberglass body will sit on a Mexican Auto Design chassis built in Sahagun City, where the initial iteration of the Alpine A110 was assembled.
Further details have yet to be revealed, but “Proyecto SST-77” sounds more than interesting and we will keep our eyes open for updates. Until then, check out the renderings posted in our photo gallery section.
