British petrolheads now have one more reason to be happy, as the new ALPINA B3 S Bi-Turbo has now been brought to the UK.

The latest addition in the BMW tuner’s range manages to offer exciting performance, while also being sensitive to the environment’s feelings, as it uses a 3 liter straight six powerplant that delivers 400 hp at 6,000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, but only emits 223 grams of CO2 per km. The engine uses a six speed automatic transmission, which offers the driver the possibility to change gears using a "sequential" mode.

The car needs 4.7 seconds to cover the 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint and offers a top speed of 186 mph (298 km/h). But this does not make the vehicle a gas guzzler, as it manages to return a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 29.1 UK mpg (24.2 US mpg, or 9.7 liters per 100 km).

The B3 S wears a new set of exterior features, including a redesigned front spoiler and a rear diffuser that encloses the tailpipes. The kit also includes a set of ALPINA B7 alloy rims, borrowed from the B7 model.

ALPINA’s latest creation can be ordered for the saloon, touring, coupe and convertible incarnation of the BMW 3 Series, with the first deliveries scheduled for July.

The new B3 S reflects the ALPINA ethos of ultra high performance combined with environmental consciousness. the B3 S stays faithful to another ALPINA manufacturing edict - that the sporting nature of its cars should not compromise luxury, comfort and everyday usability,” stated the press release.
