Alonso Motivated to Win in 2011

Fernando Alonso was a hot title favorite going into the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last season, yet he failed to deliver the result that would have brought him a 3rd world title. And while that probably still eats him – although he doesn't admit it, obviously – the Spaniard revealed that his entire focus was at the moment on the upcoming campaign.

During Ferrari's F150 launch event at Maranello, the 2-time world champion told the media that he was excited about the new season, which he would tackle with only one thought in mind: winning the title.

I am really motivated, really excited. 2010 was an incredible year for me, the first year with Ferrari and I discovered a wonderful team, wonderful environment and really passionate for a driver,” said the Spaniard at Ferrari's media event.

Working in his favor, as compared to his first campaign with Ferrari, will be the fact that he already knows the team pretty well, in addition to his willingness to avenge his lost chance in 2010. Additionally, he once again emphasized the fact that Ferrari needed to be competitive from the get go if they wanted to be title contenders in 2011.

I think I know the team better now, I know the names of the mechanics something I didn't last year because the beginning of the year was not easy for me so I am far more integrated in the team and the feeling that has been carried out through 2010 contributed to the creation of the new one, which is more comfortable and I think that I will feel that it will be easier for me to adapt to this new car and I hope it will be as strong as it is beautiful.

I had a difficult year and it is always important to feel excited to start the new year so I would like to start a profitable year with results I am confident we will do that with the new car.

A season debut like the one last year is probably what Alonso is fancying right now, as the Ferrari sophomore went on to win his first ever race with Ferrari, in Bahrain.
