All Three Jaguar Models Enjoyed Sales Success in 2010

Jaguar’s revitalized product line-up has been rewarded with positive sales results last year, the third consecutive one for the renowned British sportscar maker. The company’s desirable new models and aggressive TV advertising campaigns for the XF and XJ also helped drive sales in the UK.

"The all-new XJ has achieved segment leadership despite only going on sale in May 2010. Meanwhile, our volume model the XF, which was launched in 2008, has seen its best ever sales year and is up 25 per cent versus 2009. The XK is up 15 per cent in 2010 - double that of sector growth," announced Geoff Cousins, Managing Director at Jaguar UK.

2010 was the best UK sales year ever for the XF, 12,687 of which were delivered, up nearly 25 percent from 2009’s 10,112. This result is even more surprising when you consider the market only expanded 19 percent last year.

The two-door XK model more than doubled what the sportscar market could achieve, with 1641 cars sold compared with 1430 in 2009, an overall improvement of 15 percent. In the meantime, the brand new XJ, which was named Top Gear Luxury Car of the Year, is now the segment leadership despite only going on sale in May 2010.

"Desirable new models, competitive offers and a cut-through TV advertising campaign for XF and XJ are helping to drive retail sales. We have also undertaken some incredibly successful partnerships in 2010, most notably with the ECB and the Ashes-winning cricket team. Since we started our association with the team they have been on a winning streak and the response from dealers and customers has been incredibly positive. We look forward to welcoming them home,"Jaguar’s UK Managing Director also stated.
