Toyota, which has been stepping on the new model introduction accelerator pedal all year long, has yet to settle down for the summer months.
And they just demonstrated that by kicking off August in grand style with the introduction of what may be their most important vehicle presentation of the year – the 2024 Land Cruiser (250 or Prado across various regions). It shouldn't be confused with the J300 Land Cruiser presented in the summer of 2021, which is why the new model bears the Land Cruiser 250 moniker in Japan, for example.

Other regions will know it as the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (Australia, parts of Europe, etc.) to continue the legacy of the Prado series, which has been sold as the 'light-duty' variation of the family since 1990. As a main highlight, the Prado will become available in every market Toyota sells vehicles except for Mexico and South Korea, plus a few Southeast Asian and South American markets where they offer the Hilux-based Fortuner/SW4 SUV instead.

In America, the new 2024 Land Cruiser will start deliveries next spring with just one powertrain – which is also possibly the best: the N400 Tacoma's 326-hp hybrid i-Force Max with 2.4-liter turbo inline-four and electric assistance. It's also offered in two guises – with classic round LED headlights for the First Edition and base '1958' grade or with a squared look for the regular Land Cruiser trim.

However, some voices claim this is not enough – even though Toyota has strived hard to return to its off-road-focused, rugged adventurer origins with this mid-$50k sibling of the acclaimed 2024 Lexus GX 550. And some of them even decided to take matters into their hands. Or rather, at the tip of their CGI brushes, as is the case with the imaginative realm of digital car content creators – which quickly started conjuring dreams of three-door open-top 2024 Land Cruisers, among others.

However, it seems that there is an even better idea. Jim, the virtual artist better known as jlord8 on social media, has quickly CGI-noticed there is a need for additional 2024 Land Cruiser variants. And because his feed was assaulted by news of the 2024 Land Cruiser, he immediately summoned the digital muse to envision a potential FJ Cruiser revival.

The retro-styled mid-size SUV produced by Toyota since 2006 finally bowed out of all markets last year (it was ousted from America after the 2014 model year), although it is not without ardent fans. But the pixel master probably believes that if Toyota ever considers a revival of the moniker, the company could simply offer it as a body-style version of the all-new 2024 Land Cruiser (250 or Prado). As such, a three-door would use the same TNGA-F platform and cut costs while deploying the beloved FJ Cruiser styling on top of the classic, beloved three-door body style.
