Alguersuari Also Skeptical about Toro Rosso Deal

A week ago, Scuderia Toro Rosso was announcing, through the voice of its team boss Franz Tost, that it will retain both Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari for the 2011 season of Formula One. Little we knew however that neither of the two drivers had actually signed a deal, as both seem in the dark about their future.

The first to speak out was Buemi, who told the media shortly after Tost's announcement that he didn't sign any deal for 2011. A day later, after probably speaking to the members of his team, he switched his initial declarations and insisted that he will remain at Faenza for an additional season next year.

Following that short drama, now Alguersuari seems to follow the same pattern, telling the Spanish media that Buemi's thoughts on the 2011 campaign are pretty much his also. Additionally, he expressed his skepticism over the “STR deal” for 2011.

He (Buemi) believes more or less what I do. At this point you can never know for certain what will happen to you for next season. I could go to another team, or stay with Toro Rosso, where I am very happy to continue, but you never know. We are skeptical until the end of the season and can't really say anything else,” said Alguersuari, according to AS newspaper.

Additionally, the young Spaniard is quite aware that he needs to return to scoring points for his team if he really wants to feel secure for the 2011 seat with Toro Rosso. Alguersuari scored on only 2 occasions so far, being on a 5-race scoreless streak in the series heading into this weekend's German Grand Prix.

In F1, things change very quickly, so that the situation now can be different in a few months. I just want to have a better second half of the year and return to the points,” added the Spaniard.
