Alfa Romeo Set for US Return

Alfa Romeo have trademarked the 4C brand in the US. This is a definite step towards a US market return. It may not give us a clear date when this is taking place but, from what we gather, it’s a sure thing.

The Fiat-owned Italian manufacturer has been off the US market since 1995 and the last car to be sold there was the dreary 164.

The 4C Coupe is the first car to go on sale in the US, expected to go into production in 2014. The year also coincides with Alfa’s plans to launch six new models, though details on exactly what they will be and how many will make it to the US is still unclear.

It's rumored that the 4C will actually be put together at the Maserati plant in Mondena, using lightweight materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber.
