Celebrating the 60th anniversary of an iconic Alfa Romeo, Touring Superleggera has finally a modern day incarnation of the Disco Volante. For those of you that aren’t old enough to remember a car from that long ago, the Volante will look like a combination between the Fiat Coupe and Barchetta, considering very few car have that line ‘cutting’ the wheel arch.
The 21st century car is built by Milan-based coachbuilder Touring Superleggera, who was also involved with the original. They will show this new creating at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Disco Volante will be based on the chassis from an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. This makes us wonder if they used a much loathed 8C that had already been built, or got a fresh set of underpinnings from Alfa.

All the mechanical bits have been kept from the 8C as well - the engine, semi-automatic gearbox, e and rear diff - so it’s not going to be a driver’s car.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
