Alfa Romeo MiTo Turismo Sport Launched

Alfa Romeo is set to re-enter the U.S. automotive market, with the company planing to expand its global vehicle range. However, until all these plans are transformed into reality, the Italian automotive producer is making smaller steps, with the latest move being the introduction of the Alfa Romeo MiTo Turismo Sport Edition.

Destined for the UK market, the vehicles comes with a list of sporty details, with these covering the exterior of the vehicle and the equipment area.

The car rides on dedicated special edition alloy rims that come in a 16 inch size and is fitted with a rear spoiler that offers a performance appearance, as well as with fog lights.

Customers can choose between three “visually arresting colors”: Solid Black (this comes in standard and can be seen in the adjacent images), Biancospino White and the new Alfa Metallic Red.

The special MiTo’s equipment list includes an air conditioning system, Alfa’s D.N.A. technology, a cruise control system, Blue & Me technology and a leather-finished steering wheel that incorporates audio and phone controls.

The Alfa Romeo MiTo Turismo Sport offers a choice of two engines. The first one is a 1.4 liter 16V petrol unit delivering 95hp, while the second is a 1.3 liter JTDM-2 Multijet turbodiesel powerplant that produces the same power.

"While the 95bhp 16V petrol engine provides a fun and engaging drive, the advanced second generation MultiJet turbodiesel engine -JTDM-2 -perfectly complements the Alfa MiTo philosophy of low emissions (112g/km of CO2) and fuel consumption (65.7 mpg / 54.7 US mpg/ 4.3 l/100km on the combined cycle) without compromising performance and driver satisfaction (0-62mph in 11.6 seconds)," stated the press release.

The vehicle’s pricing starts at 12,895 pounds ($20,100) for the petrol version and at 14,410 pounds ($22.460) for the diesel one.
