Airoh has just mailed in information on their newest addition to the 2015 helmet line-up. The new lid is inspiredly called Rides and is a modular or flip-up model. Airoh says this helmet is a very good choice for an all-rounder, as it can be used both in the city and during longer hauls.
Obviously, Airoh had the Rides homologated in Europe for both P and J classes. P, which stands for Protective, means wearing the helmet fully closed, like a full-face unit, while J, standing for Jet, is associated with wearing the helmet with the face shield in the open position. No mention on DOT compliance, but as Airoh also sells helmets across the pond, North American rider have decent chances to get the Rides, as well.

Pinlock and Bluetooth ready, and noiseless

The Rides is ready for installing a Pinlock lens, but its visor is also treated for less fogging. Even more, the front vents direct air towards the visor, helping with clearer vison. The lid is also ready to accept compatible Bluetooth intercom modules and is equipped with a retractible sun visor.

Airoh claims the Rides is exceedingly silent, but this matter is subjective. We must, however, add that the design does indeed look very clean and tidy, with few areas that could cause excessive wind noises.

The outer shell is made from high resistance thermoplastic resin (HRT) and whr whole lid tips the scales at 1580 grams (3.48 lb), which is a decent weight for a flip-up.

Rides will be avaialble in black, pearl white and titanium grey, in sizes XS through XXL, but the price was not revealed at the time of writing.
