AC Schnitzer sure knows how to tease auto enthusiasts: the tuner announced that it is developing an upgrade package for the new BMW 5 series, but didn’t just send a dull press release - the company took the time to equip the F10 5 series with a new set or rims and tires and released a set of images aiming to capture our imagination.
AC Schnitzer is offering three rim models that can be ordered in a 19 or 20 inch size: the Type IV wheels, which can come in a bi-color or silver finish, the Type V light forged wheels and the Type III wheels that use a bi-color finish.
The German tuner is currently developing a complex kit for the Bimmer, which will include engine upgrades, exhaust systems, new suspension systems, an aerodynamic package and interior accessories.
“The new BMW 5-series saloon, model F10, has arrived! We’ve been eagerly awaiting the 6th generation of the 5-series for some time, and are delighted to welcome it finally into the BMW family. Even before its official launch, the new BMW 5-series created rather a furore: with the longest wheelbase in its class, a long bonnet, short overhangs and a coupé-like roof line, it is about to be catapulted to the top of its segment. The 5-series by AC Schnitzer is already in our development department. Our engineers, designers and technicians are working flat out on an extensive product range” the press release stated.
This type of marketing is always a smart solution, but it also adds one or two sizes to the shoes the company has to fill - the clock is ticking AC Schnitzer...
