A Crop Fire Completely Engulfs a Nearby Road in Smoke, Chaos Ensues

I think we can all agree that seeing where you’re going is an important part of driving - it’s probably why cars come equipped with things like headlights, windshields or wipers.
Unlike other scenarios where you can feel, hear, smell or even taste your way out of a situation, driving is heavily reliant on sight. Don’t think that modern GPS navigation systems can substitute the old looking through the window technique - tests have proven that navigating based solely on satellite triangulation is a bad idea that yields very poor results. And if by some miracle, it managed to keep you on the road, you would still need radar and other detection systems to prevent drivers from crashing into each other.

Let’s not try to reinvent driving here and let’s stick to what we know. We’ve seen earlier this year how devastating a very dense fog can be when a massive pile-up on a Slovenian highway ended tragically with several people losing their lives. Poor visibility is no joke, and the video below proves it once again.

The thing about fog is that it’s not always caused by the weather. Sometimes, man can be just as effective at filling the air with small particles that block vision and make it feel like you’re swimming in a cloud. Only this cloud smell like burned field crops.

In the old age of sea-faring, whenever there was dense fog, the ships would sound a warning bell to advertise their position to other vessels that happened to be nearby. Modern cars don’t have bells, but they do come with sound-emitting devices that could be used for such purposes. But the driver in question doesn’t seem to think it’s needed. Considering how loud his passengers are, it would have been enough to crack open the window, but in such a thick smoke, that was never a real option.

You can probably see where this is going, but trust us, as long as you have your headphones on, this is totally worth watching. It will scare you, but it will also make you laugh. Kind of like a bad horror movie.
