Building your own camper van is definitely the most cost-efficient way. But not all of us have the time, energy, and skills for this DIY approach. That's why some people prefer investing a bit more and purchasing a tiny home on wheels that's ready for traveling. Today, I'm checking out one such example, The King Highline by Ready Set Van.
Ready Set Van is a company based in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, specializing in building adventure van conversions that can take you anywhere. It has four available models, one of which is the Highline.

The van I'm discussing today, the "King Highline," is a variant of the original Highline. Besides offering a larger, king-size bed, it also comes with 36% more garage storage space, as well as 28% more overhead storage space. Storage is always essential in tiny homes on wheels, so I think it's a no-brainer to go for this version.

The conversion is built on a Ram ProMaster Class B van. I know price usually makes or breaks the deal when it comes to camper vans, so I'll start with that. The company's Highline conversion starts at a hefty $74,250 (€69,518), which, of course, doesn't include the base vehicle. So, you'll get to at least $130,000 (€121,714) for the entire build, which is on the higher side when it comes to camper vans.

This unit rides on all-terrain tires connected to an upgraded suspension that offers a slight front lift to level out the vehicle. At the front, you'll discover a light bar and scene lights, as well as a large bull bar. Move toward the passenger side, and you’ll notice a Fiamma awning and running boards.

On the opposite side, you'll find a shore power connection and an Orion side ladder leading to an Orion roof rack. A cool thing Ready Set Van did to devise a roof deck was to cover the 350 W solar panels with polycarbonate. This way, they still work properly but can also be walked on.

While the exterior looks are slightly aggressive, things take a calming turn once you head inside. Open the main door, and you'll discover a simple yet cozy interior built following a typical camper van layout.

The kitchen countertop takes up part of the entrance, with an additional pop-up extension table supported by heavy-duty drawer slides. One thing I'm fond of is that the builders added a custom bug net that covers the entire entrance and can be rolled up.

Starting from the front, the driver’s and passenger’s seats can be swiveled to face the interior. What's more, when facing the living space, the driver has a dinette table directly in front, which is mounted on a welded steel frame. On the other side, Ready Set Van installed a bench seat with two drawers underneath.

The driver's cabin and seating area sits a bit higher up than the rest of the living space, so the company devised a small step with integrated storage space. Other notable features in this part of the interior include a window with bug and black-out screens and two spacious overhead cabinets, one of which houses a microwave.

Next up, we have the galley kitchen - it's quite compact but equipped with the essentials for cooking. It features a deep sink with a cover, several drawers and cabinets, a tiny trash can, a pull-out pantry, a 21-gallon (80-liter) fridge, and an induction stove.

On the kitchen wall, you'll discover several plugs and light switches, the controls for the inverter and the diesel heater, and some small shelves.

On the opposite side, Ready Set Van devised the wet bathroom, featuring a molded acrylic interior. It comprises a shower, a bamboo mat on a stainless steel shower pan, and a toilet, all separated from the living space via a sliding door.

And finally, we have the last area in the living space, the bedroom. The enormous bed measures a whopping 72 x 75 inches (183 x 190.5 centimeters). Even though it's mounted side-to-side, you can sleep pretty much in any way, as it's almost a square bed. Moreover, the company added a nice touch to the wall cut-outs: Sundrella fabric with a striking design that offers a pop of color.

Up above, you’ll notice three small storage compartments on one side and three larger cabinets on the other. Other notable details on the van's ceiling include a Maxxair fan and an A/C.

If you're familiar with camper van build, you know that some people install pass-through doors underneath the bed that leads into the garage. This van's owner wanted additional drawers and had an additional special request – a long ramp for his dog to get into bed.

The garage is accessible from the rear. It's very large and would’ve been even bigger were it not for the drawers and ramp. The van's plumbing system is on the right side, featuring a 30-gallon (114-liter) freshwater tank and a 4-gallon (15-liter) water heater.

On the opposite side, you'll find the electrical system. It comprises a 3,000 W inverter, an 840 Ah battery bank, a DC/DC charger, a solar charger, breakers, and more. Other notable elements here in the back include a water fill, an outdoor shower connection, some plugs, and a disconnect switch for the electrical stuff.

All in all, this tiny home on wheels comes with a carefully crafted and practical living space and plenty of storage spaces, which make it suitable for full-time living. Check out Ready Set Van’s official website for more information about their builds.
