700 HP Toyota Supra vs Porsche 911 GT2 Drag Race

What is the power of the underdog? It’s when you fit a right hand drive Toyota Supra imported from Japan with enough Turbo power to defeat a car like the 2003 Porsche 996 GT2 on the drag strip.
Sure, the 911 was never built for straight-line speed - it’s more of a track car. But this is the GT2, a car that uses the same engine as a Turbo, but is lighter, grippier and more vicious. This one has also been tuned with an ECU map, exhaust and air box.

This puts the out firmly in the area of 500 horsepower, but the 700 horsepower Supra has longer legs, even though the 911 gets the jump on it off the line.

The end result is that the Porsche puts in a respectable 12 second time, while the Japanese monster ticks 10 seconds.
