Between January and March 2014 the sixth season of the BMW Welt Jazz Award will be taking place, hosting renowned international ensembles in the BMW Welt Double Cone.
The motto of the event will be "Sense of Humour" and will spread over six free Sunday morning matinees and musicians from the US, Norway, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and Germany already confirmed their attendance.
“With its global appeal, the distinguished ensembles, the expertise of the jury and the enthusiasm of its audience, the Award has become recognised far beyond national borders. I hope that the 2014 audiences will once again experience unique moments,” said Maximilian Schöberl, Senior Vice President, Corporate and Governmental Affairs, BMW Group.
The total prize money add up to EUR15,000, the winner going home with EUR10,000 and the runner up claiming the remaining EUR5,000. The grand finale will take place on May 3rd, 2014 in the BMW Welt Auditorium, where the prizes will also be handed out. For the complete calendar, check the attached press release below.
