With no less than 360 hp and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque from a total displacement of just under two liters, the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is sporting the world's most powerful production four-cylinder engine alongside the A 45 AMG and the new GLA 45 AMG.
While for some people those figures would be more than adequate to shame quite a large number of sports cars in various impromptu drag races, the “more is better” is obviously a good enough tag line even for the most powerful and fastest cars out there, especially if you're a tuner.

The Brits from Rebellion Automotive have become quite known in recent months for their plug-and-play Stage 1 ECU tuning for the M133 engine from AMG, but you'll probably be excited to know that they also offer a Stage 2 version of their tune.

In essence, the Stage 2 is not that different from Stage one, but the power and performance gains are visibly better. So much better, in fact, that the CLA 45 AMG in the adjacent images is probably more than capable to keep up with some of the world's best supercars from yesteryear when it comes to straight line acceleration times.

With approximately 440 bhp and 610 Nm (450 lb ft) of torque on tap from just an ECU mod via Rebellion's iTuning controller and their Hybrid Turbo, it is expected that naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) times have dropped to around 3.8 seconds.

Even more impressive are the naught to 200 km/h (124 mph) times, which now sit at under 13 seconds, or about the same as a Lamborghini Murcielago.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG below belongs to a Rebellion Automotive customer from Eastern Europe, who only had to ship his car's turbocharger to the UK - where it had its internals strengthened, the blade geometry improved and also got a larger compressor wheel. Together with the RA ECU controller that gives it increased boost and better fueling settings it became a downright monster of a car.
