Do you think YouTube will still be around 50 years from now? How hard will it be to dig through decades of content if it will? Will our kids look at videos from the start of the 21st century and think they were silly? And will we still be nostalgic about ICE-powered vehicles?
I often think about these things, but living in the present is better. Drag races from 2024 may serve as an automotive history lesson many years from now. But we can also draw some conclusions today. I always advise people to purchase cars with a test drive. That way, you'll know if that vehicle is right for you. It doesn't matter if its opponent has better stats.

You should decide with your heart. And that's especially valid with supercars. Looking at performance figures can be useless if you don't plan to engage in competitive racing. But for today's exercise, it may come in handy. We're looking at four spectacular machines: two Italian, one German, and another from the United Kingdom.

After seeing so many drag races in the past few years, I can already tell that the Porsche 911 Turbo S will be excellent going off the line, thanks to its complex AWD system. While its performance figures are better than those of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante, it's down on power and torque compared to the Ferrari and the McLaren.

And this is where it all gets interesting. The 750S features a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 capable of delivering 740 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Ferrari has opted to downsize with a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 that also benefits from an electric motor's support. The combined output is up to 819 hp and 740 Nm of torque. While it's about 81 kg heavier than the McLaren, it's still a lot lighter than the Porsche. With three different challenges coming up, can you make any predictions?

Watching them go is undoubtedly exciting by any standard, although I would always choose a time attack test at the racetrack instead of a drag race. The Porsche 911 Turbo S needs some upgrades to compete successfully against the competition. Luckily, there are quite a few solutions on the market if that's what you plan on doing with it. After three runs, the results are in. If you bet on the McLaren, to begin with, it's your lucky day.

The 750S needed 10.3 seconds to cross the quarter-mile (402 meters) finish line, but the Porsche and Ferrari were just 0.1 seconds behind. The Huracan Performance arrived 0.3 seconds later, proving it can keep up without relying on forced induction. For the rolling race to the 1/2-mile (804 meters), the Ferrari 296 GTB is in a league of its own. In a rather unexpected twist of events, neither of the two winners will be successful in the third leg of the race, though. But I won't spoil that result for you.
