Codenamed P758, the Maverick pickup truck rolled out in 2021 for the 2022 model year with a choice of 2.0-liter turbo and 2.5-liter hybrid powertrains. For 2025, a mid-cycle refresh is due with lots of small exterior styling updates and some tech-related changes for the cockpit, including SYNC 4.
Although SYNC 3 has been the Blue Oval's default choice for infotainment for quite a few years now, the XL and XLT versions of the Maverick don't come with it. Only the Lariat features the aforementioned operating system, which sweetens the deal with voice recognition for changing the radio station, A/C temperature, and so forth.

YouTube user BlakesCars2 has recently spotted a camouflaged 2025 Ford Maverick on I-94 in Michigan, with said prototype showing a camouflaged interior with a different center stack from the 2024 model. The landscape-oriented display looks very similar to the 13.2-inch unit in the hugely popular Escape, whose unibody platform is obviously shared with the compact pickup.

Because the Ford Escape also comes with an 8.0-inch version of the SYNC 4 infotainment system, one could argue that 13.2 inches are reserved for the Maverick's well-equipped Lariat grade rather than the XLT and XL. On the other hand, pay attention to the design of the wheels and the finish of the side mirrors. Both scream Maverick XLT, which makes the guesswork a bit more difficult.

Given the camouflage around the instrument cluster area, the refreshed Maverick could also get a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Pictured with chrome rather than body-color or unpainted door handles, the prototype hides revised taillights and headlights under the black-and-white camo wrap. The front grille could be different as well, and grade-specific front grille designs should be considered as well.

Last year, the Ford Motor Company released a seemingly boring press release about Q3 2023 financial information and sales in the United States market. Said release also included the following lines: "Ford Blue [i.e., the fossil-fuel vehicle division] is rolling out new derivatives of its iconic nameplates," which "include […] new extensions of the Bronco and Maverick nameplates." The only extension to the Maverick nameplate would be Maverick Lobo, with Lobo standing for gray wolf.

Ford Motor Company trademarked Maverick Lobo in August 2023, and to date, there's no such thing as oft-rumored Maverick ST in the USPTO's trademark database. Similar to the Maverick Tremor Package, the Lobo could feature a twin-clutch rear drive unit for shuffling 100 percent of the available torque to either wheel for improved cornering.

The Bronco Sport Badlands also uses the GKN Twinster twin-clutch system, which you probably remember from the manual-equipped Focus RS hot hatchback. The biggest question mark, however, is whether the Ford Motor Company will give the Maverick Hybrid an all-wheel-drive option or not. Because the 2024 Ford Escape Hyrid can be had with AWD, the Maverick Hybrid could very well follow suit.
